Introduction
A changing business to reflect a changing world
Since I joined Investigo in 2006, I’ve rarely seen such a big period of change – both inside and outside the business.
As a talent provider, we saw some time ago that there was a need to offer a holistic service catering for all of our clients’ talent needs – and in March 2023, we introduced The IN Group, an end-to-end talent solutions group covering everything from sourcing the right people to redefining talent acquisition functions.
In the face of economic and political upheaval, permanent changes to working culture brought about by COVID, and the emergence of generative AI as a transformer of business models, finding and keeping the right talent for today, and the future, has become more complex.
As we enter 2024, we look at some of the important trends and themes redefining the workplace and driving talent strategies for organisations of all types.
Consultancy services are more important than ever as businesses look to evolve to meet these challenges. By rebranding Definia, our technology and transformation consultancy, we’ve equipped it with a strong identity that better reflects its work helping our clients transform their businesses from the inside out.
Digital skills are now involved in everything and there’s hardly a role in an organisation that isn’t touched by digital in one way or another. Yet there aren’t enough people in the tech industry with the digital skills we need. In October, we announced our strategic partnership with hire, train and deploy experts Sigma Labs, to expand our digital talent pool with exceptional junior technology consultants.
Tech isn’t the only area where we’ve bolstered our proposition. November saw us add leading life sciences recruiter BioTalent to The IN Group, strengthening our capabilities in this important market. This report contains detailed updates from each of these businesses.
The workplace is now more embedded into our lives than ever before and the employer-employee relationship has changed beyond all recognition. We no longer just turn up at our workplace, do a day’s work and get paid. In their search for meaning, people now expect so much more of their employers and demand that the organisation’s values align with their own.At the same time, employers have a responsibility to monitor and protect their people’s wellbeing, providing allyship and purpose to help unlock the power of people. Organisations are also actively taking more interest in their impact on their communities and the world around them. This magazine covers:
Charity – how charity strategies galvanise workplace cultures.
ESG – how you can tie your actions into your purpose as an organisation.
DEI – the significance of allyship and how collaboration is the key to equitable workplaces.
Employee wellbeing – how nurturing our people’s wellbeing has a direct impact on our success.
Speaking to our clients, candidates and partners every day about the challenges and opportunities they’re experiencing in their working lives, we have a front row seat to the big trends reshaping the talent world before our eyes. This report includes market snapshots on our recruitment specialisms, with an additional focus on executive search and technology, from our team of expert recruiters. We’re delighted to now cover more specialisms than we ever have before.
The IN Group’s here to make a difference to the world of work. That’s not just by anticipating and responding to what’s going on in the market, but by partnering with our clients and sharing the knowledge they need to help solve their talent challenges.
We hope you’ll find this report useful and many thanks to everyone who’s contributed their knowledge and expertise. Please get in touch if you’d like to discuss any of these insights in more detail.
